NCABC Celebrate 40th Anniversary in Grand Style

The Nigeria-Canada Association of British Columbia (NCABC) marked the end of 2024 with a grand End-of-Year Celebration and 40th Anniversary event, bringing together the Nigerian-Canadian community to reflect on past achievements, celebrate cultural heritage, and foster unity. The event was a significant milestone, recognizing four decades of resilience, growth, and community service.
Event Highlights

  1. Attendance and Participation

    The event witnessed the presence of our Ag High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada and the Head of Chancery in Otawa, who graced the occasion on very short notice. The event had an impressive turnout, with over 550 attendees, including community members, dignitaries, and friends of Nigeria. Distinguished guests, including government officials, partner organizations, and key stakeholders, were in attendance. Cultural groups, artists, and performers showcased Nigeria’s rich heritage through music, dance, and fashion.

    1. Key Activities

    Anniversary Speech & Recognition: The leadership of NCABC delivered speeches highlighting the association’s journey over the last 40 years.
    Cultural Performances: Traditional dance and storytelling from the children in the community, music, and a display of cultural artifacts from Nigeria to celebrate Nigerian culture. There was also a masquerade display from the Anambra Socio-Cultural Group.
    Networking and Community Bonding: Members had the opportunity to connect, fostering a deeper sense of community.

    Massive Community Engagement: The event attracted a diverse audience, strengthening community bonds. Visibility and Recognition: NCABC’s profile was elevated, attracting potential partners and sponsors.
